The New Year- Starting Out Right!

Accountability
-An obligation or willingness to accept responsibility
-To account for ones actions.

At the beginning of the year everyone makes their new year’s resolution. And I started to wonder why. Statistically 92% of those people will not keep them, and 45% will fail by the end of January. So if a resolution is not something that is kept then why make it?

After reading my sisters blog, www.theincrediblebrowns.blogspot.com I started to think of what I really wanted out of this year. I have lost over 23lbs since September through exercise, healthy eating, and staying focused. I want to keep that weight loss going. I want results and to get those I realized that instead of focusing on that bound to fail resolution, I need to focus on my accountability.
By creating my goals and telling them to others I am not only accountable to myself but to them as well. It helps having others involved, they can help keep me motivated, be support when I slip cause let’s be honest I am human I am going to slip, and offer advice and helpful tips when I need them.

I am the one that has to decide that I will work out, make those healthy food choices, and that when I am having a rough day I will talk to my support system so that I stay on track.
So the challenge that I have given myself is to stay accountable. Is it a challenge you think that you can handle too?
As my sister says Decide and Commit!!!

Happy New Year, it’s time to get to work.
